Racing Pigeon Paternity Test

Scientifically confirm parent–offspring relationships via 58 SNP loci for bloodline certification, breeding management and race fairness.

The Science of Paternity Testing

Based on Mendelian inheritance — offspring inherit half their genes from each parent. Testing compares alleles at multiple highly polymorphic SNP loci between offspring and suspected parents:

  • Exclusion: if a suspected parent lacks an allele the offspring must inherit, parentage is excluded.
  • Confirmation: if all alleles match, a Paternity Index (PI) and Combined Probability are computed to confirm parentage.

Sanshi Bio uses 58 exclusive SNP loci for higher accuracy and reliability.

Applications

Six Use Cases

🪪

Bloodline Certification

Verify the authenticity of champion bloodlines and prevent fake pedigrees.

🐣

Breeding Management

Confirm pair breeding results and prevent cross-breeding errors.

🏆

Race Eligibility

Verify the bloodline of race entries to ensure fairness.

📦

Import Traceability

Confirm the bloodline origin of newly acquired breeding birds.

🌳

Pedigree Building

Build a reliable, traceable pedigree for a new pigeon line.

🛡️

Anti-substitution

Prevent same-name and substitution fraud in trade and competition.

FAQ

What sample is needed for paternity testing?

Pluck 4–6 breast feathers from both the offspring and the suspected parent(s), air-dry, and ship in clean sealed bags.

Can I test with only one parent?

Yes — single-parent testing is possible. Providing both parents yields a higher confirmation probability.

How accurate is the test?

Using 58 highly polymorphic SNP loci, exclusions are definitive and confirmations reach over 99.99% combined probability.
